God’s desire

I appreciate your interest and pursuit of the knowledge of the holy. It’s encouraging for me to know that God is using my podcast “Metamorph” via the hubhopper platform in reaching people in different cities of India. I see that people in New Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow  and other scattered cities are hungry and thirsty for fresh bread and transformation. God wants you to be filled and satisfied.

God is calling people from all walks of life and from every tongue and tribe because He has a deep desire within Himself. I have a revelation of what the deep desire of God is. The one and only God desires a people who belong to Him, and who are not ashamed to acknowledge Him as their God. He states, “You will be my people and I will be your God.” This relationship is not a casual one but a very formal one. With these people He has cut a covenant. Blood has been spilt to establish and confirm the covenant. Therefore, it should not, it cannot, be taken lightly. In order to fulfil this desire, God had a plan.

A long time ago, there was a man called Abram who lived in Ur of Chaldea. Him God called to leave his own country, house and relatives to go to a place he would be shown. God got a positive response through the faith and obedience of Abram. Therefore God established and confirmed His relationship with this man. He even changed this man’s name from Abram to Abraham. Abraham moved from being just a common man to being a friend of God. (Please take note that not everyone gets to be acknowledged as friend by God.)

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, but God has a desire to have a filial relationship with the one He chooses. The apostle Paul wrote about this in his letters to the Romans & in the second letter to the Corinthians, “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What harmony does Messiah have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement does God’s Temple have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God—just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate, says Adonai. Touch no unclean thing. Then I will take you in. I will be a father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says Adonai -Tzva’ot .” (TLV)

Through these records in the scriptures, we can come to an understanding about this deep desire of the only wise God. Every agreement has obligations, terms, promises and signatures. There is a call to separate from the common to be a treasured possession. What is unclean for God should be unclean for the one who has been called and chosen to be separated unto God. Getting rid of those traits that are contrary to godliness is the biggest challenge in this relationship between God and his people. Clothing yourself with the good characteristics and letting the mind of God be your mind is difficult though not impossible. For all things are possible to him who believes.

God definitely doesn’t appreciate lip service. There are many who give only lip service. It’s a self-deception for sure.

God’s desire is to have a people who listen and obey, who submit to him, who’s heart is after His heart, who know how to give God credit and the glory due unto His name, who love righteousness and practice kingdom principles. I believe another big challenge in the front of us is being transformed into his true likeness and not conformed to this world’s religious image of who God really is and false ways of serving Him.

  • Are you one who has been called and chosen of God to be separated unto God? Do we get to choose or be chosen by Him?
  • Are you finding it costly to follow His instructions or commands?
  • Do you agree with this article? Do leave your comments.

God’s method for victory over sin

Yes, there is a God-ordained method whereby a living saint can live a victorious life over sin.

Do you not know it is mechanically impossible for a Christian to continue to live a life of habitual sin?

The Christian has changed masters, and that serving the Lord Jesus, it is not his nature to sin. The first thing we must settle is regarding the word “sin”, does it refer to acts of sin committed by the believer, or to the totally depraved nature still in him? In Romans chapter six, sin is personified since it reigns as king. But one cannot conceive of acts of sin reigning as king in the life of a person. That can only be the evil nature still resident in the believer. Every time the word “sin” is used in chapter six of Romans, it refers to the evil nature in the Christian. Read the following verses and substitute the words “sinful nature” for the word “sin”, and see what a flood of light is thrown upon your understanding of this section of Scripture (1, 2, 6, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16-18, 20, 22, 23). Thus in chapter six, Paul is not talking about what kind of a life the believer should live, but by what method or how he should live that life. The question “Shall we continue (habitually to sustain the same relationship to the sinful nature that we sustained before we were saved, a relationship in which we were fully yielded to and dependent upon that sinful nature and) all this as a habit of life?” is dealt with in this chapter. The basic question is regarding the believer’s relationship to the sinful nature. Acts of sin in his life being the result of the degree of his yieldedness to the sinful nature. It is a mechanical impossibility for a Christian to habitually sustain the same relationship to the evil nature that he sustained before God saved him. It is against our nature to habitually yield to the evil nature. We are not persons of such a nature as to do so. Paul tells us two things are the result of a major surgical operation which God performs in the inner being of every sinner He saves. They are the breaking of the power of indwelling sin, and the impartation of the divine nature. Christians are dead to the sinful nature. God used his surgical knife to cut the believing sinner loose from his sinful nature. This occurred potentially in the mind and purpose of God when that believing sinner, elected to salvation before the universe was created, was identified with the Lord Jesus in His death on the cross, and actually, the moment he placed his faith in Him as Saviour. Now, while God separated the believing sinner from the evil nature, yet He did not take it out of him, but left it in him. While there is a definite cleavage between the believer and the sinful nature yet that nature remains in him until he dies or is glorified. Any person who holds the theory that the sinful nature is eradicated at a certain point in the Christian’s experience is only deceiving himself. So far as God is concerned, He has so thoroughly done His work that that separation could be permanent. But alas, because of the frailty of man, the Christian at infrequent times does yield to the evil nature and sin. But, God has so constituted him that he need not do so. He has imparted the divine nature which gives the Christian a hatred of sin and a love for righteousness. In addition to this, the holy Spirit has been caused to take up His permanent residence in him to aid him in his battle against sin, and in his effort to live a Christian life. An illustration:

The Christian has the same power over the evil nature that he has over his radio. When a program suddenly comes over the air unfit for Christian ears, he can shut the radio off. Before salvation, the evil nature had absolute dominion over the sinner. Since salvation has wrought its beneficent work in his inner being, he has absolute dominion over it. Believe this, child of God, and act upon it. The evil nature is a dethroned monarch.

The holy Spirit at the time of the sinner’s salvation, enthroned the Lord Jesus in the throne room of the believer’s heart. He stays on the throne as long as the believer keeps yielded to the Spirit and rejects the behest of the evil nature. When the believer sins, the dethroned king, the evil nature, mounts to the throne, with the consequent dethronement of the Lord Jesus, However, such a procedure cannot go on indefinitely nor often, for God puts a curb upon such a thing by sending suffering, chastening, and the Christian is made most miserable by a guilty conscience and the indwelling Holy Spirit who is grieved at such conduct.
